Mealy and Heindel ltd.
Architects
Address (home page and contact page)
We are a small firm, founded in 1983, that provides full architectural services: planning and design through the completion of construction. In addition to projects like those illustrated on the website, professional consulting services in construction management, light and color, and feasibility planning (ADA compliance) are available.
Creative and thorough planning – with an emphasis on sustainable design, attention to detail, and construction expertise – results in a collaborative process that our clients find both approachable and fulfilling.
Evaluating existing buildings and planning new improvements employs a detailed experience-based knowledge of building, zoning and accessibility code requirements. We have recent experience in the renovation and adaptation of historically significant buildings for institutional and educational clients: St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Canterbury House, Roycemore School, Delta Tau Delta Fraternity House @ NU.
The majority of our previous work is in the greater Chicago area. On long-distance projects, like our residential work in Massachusetts, Michigan, Oregon and Pennsylvania, we are able to provide full services or work as design consultants. With our current location in the Pacific Northwest we are actively pursuing projects in both Oregon and Washington State as well as maintaining contacts in the Chicago area.
We extend hearty thanks to the clients, contractors and consultants who helped to make the work you see here possible.
Please contact us to discuss your project. We are glad to send more detailed PDF case studies of projects on the website.
Melinda Mealy Heindel and Andrew Heindel are registered architects with professional degrees in architecture. Associated work in fine art silkscreen printing, color, carpentry and construction brings the firm a healthy appreciation of the value of craftsmanship in the building process.
